The Client
A school district support organization
The Challenge
A major school district support organization was without a centralized security and compliance office and was missing documented policy and process for their Information security within the organization. The organization also lacked standards for the installation, management, and removal of applications in the environment. In addition, there was a desire to expand the externally facing functions of the organization, but no overall plan to secure the deployment.
The Solution
The need for an overall Information Security organization enabled Garnet River to deploy one of its most powerful tools: Chief Information Security Officer as a Services (CISOaaS.) This service provides a comprehensive program of Information Security assistance, ranging from policy and standards to hands-on security tool deployment. It offers both the security and compliance operational environments, the training against policy and standards, and the knowledge transfer to enable any organization to build and maintain their own information security organization.
The Impact
The support organization was able to move forward with its internal Information Security office, bolstered by the support of Garnet River’s policy, standards, and procedures. The organization, empowered by their training and education, continues to operate with the recommended framework established by the CISOaaS engagement.
