The Challenge
The State of New York added regulations to school districts requiring adherence to Information Security standards and identity protection in school IT operations. The technology awareness and sophistication vary greatly from school district to school district.
The Solution
Garnet River provides assessment, documentation, and consultative services to school districts to enable both EdLaw-2d part 121 compliance and support secure information policy and practice within the school district. The contracting process is simplified via a contract with one of the BOCES, enabling school districts to directly purchase Garnet River evaluation services, and assist with the documentation and compliance processes.
The Impact
Using standard tools, Garnet River has assisted multiple school districts in the documentation, policy building, security analysis, and information sharing that is required under EdLaw-2d part 121.
